No longer considered a luxury, many new homes are being built with a residential elevator in the plans or the provision for an elevator at a later date. Residential Elevators evolved from the handicapped market into attractive, beautifully appointed machines targeted for the upper end of the housing market. With the sky rocketing cost of housing, residential elevators have become a relatively inexpensive addition to many houses.  Smaller than regular passenger elevators, they are positioned to dominate the residential market.
